Positive Thinking for Profits and Wealth

May 30, 2007

What lies within you, that which is you, your thoughts and internal processing reflects outwardly into the world and manifests itself as your day to day life. Each belief, thought pattern and indeed your inner programming is an almost inevitable vision of your future…unless you change it!

Look at your life now. Take the major events in your life, the relationships, economic situation, your lifestyle and health. Trace these back to where they came from and you will find the first cause inevitably lies within. Take a look at your beliefs and see how they match up to where you are now.

So if your inner programming is so important then how can we start to influence and consciously change our own internal processes to reflect that which we desire. Well let’s look at money as an example. If your parents were/are solid local government employees the chances are that you of the opinion that money is all about hard work spending time at the office trading your time and hard effort for an after tax wage at the end of each month, then how can you go about changing this pattern of thought.

Well, a good start would be to focus your attention and thoughts on a particular object of your desire that fills you with passion, something that requires money to attain but that you will be really motivated to obtain.
Now remembering that faith and belief are so powerful that they are the foundation of most religions how about applying them to your own goals in life. Develop your own level of belief that you will purchase that house by the sea or whatever other goal fills you with burning desire. Start to visualize yourself actually in the house, waking up in the morning, walking on to the balcony and feeling alive with the gaping view of the sun-rise. Create in your mind a place or tunnel that you can enter and feel those thoughts and emotions at anytime and practice them regularly.

At first it may feel unrealistic that you are living your dream in your minds eye, however this is where persistence comes in. As you use this visualization technique regularly the thoughts will gain more clarity and will become more familiar, they will shrug off the feeling of unfamiliarity as you also see the pointers in your life opening the way towards your dreams fruition. Your thoughts will force you into taking positive action towards fulfilling your desires. And as you notice the doors opening where previously the way seemed barred your self-confidence and belief will increase and you will feel certain that you are but just a step away from your attaining your initial vision and desire.

Finally you will notice that your inner beliefs and desires will have led your actions along a parallel course that literally has made you take continuous positive action towards your goals until at last let you physically are taking in the sunrise views from your very own beach-side villa.

The use of this visualization or positive thinking procedure creates favorable thought and action habits. This is no magic bullet to be taken, did you ever meet a person with lasting wealth who hadn’t worked for it? Dreams do not come true by dreaming but by continuous positive action focused on a particular goal inspired by your thoughts and belief.

I invite you now to start your own visualization process. Put aside a few minutes each day to go through this move in your mind and keep with it, make it a part of your routine each day. Decide to improve your life here and now but most of all remember that a decision hasn’t been made until you take action on it! So start right-away.

Try Paradigm Shifting Next Time You Are Feeling Blue

Try Paradigm Shifting Next Time You Are Feeling Blue

A few years ago I remember being never staisfied at work. I never earned enough, it was always tiresome, tedious and I got zero staisafction from it. However that was then and this is now and I feel empowered, satisfied and indeed the exact opposite than I had previously.

The strange thing is however that I actually do virtually the same job. Now what the job is is not so important, what is important is that I feel completely different about it and much more positive… even though it is actually the same.

Of course I stopped to question myself about why this was one day recently. I had not really put my finger on the reason why I had experienced this change although it should have been obvious. You see in between these two points in time I had experienced a paradigm shift. Basically I had spent over a year working abroad in developing countries where my work and life had bought me into contact with many people who are deprived of the considerable opportunities that are available to many of us in the western world.

Where I happened to be staying an Asian friend of mine had ten days holiday a year worked ten hour days, six days a week and earned what I could earn in just a few days. However what struck me the most was that that job was about as good as it would get for that person. They had very little scope for progress due to societal pressures and would always really be stuck in that position.

Fast forward a year or so and I’m back in my homeland (UK) doing the exact same job where I was previously miserable but with a completely different outlook on it. I am now happy and overjoyed that I can progress with my work as much as I want, that I get weekends off and really if I am honest a comparitively healthy salary. I think it is fair to say that the job has certainly not changed but my attitude has which has made life so much more positive and enjoyable.

You could say it is the old ‘Is the glass half empty or half full?’ syndrome. However I would have to say that the positive shift has had a continuous knock on effect on other areas of my life. My positive attitude has led me to see other situations also in a more positive light which in turn has led me to be more motivated and act on those situations positively whereas as previously I may not have.

Adopting this positive attitude is a profoundly effective way of enjoying life more and creating more of what is already good in your life.

The good news is you don’t have to go abroad and spend a year in a foreign country just to appreciate what you already have and create your own paradigm shift. If you want you can imagine what it would be like to have lived a few hundred years ago without all the luxuries we have now….no electricity, running water and so on.

However an easier way to appreciate what is already good in your life would be to sit and write down (Yes that’s right, I’m asking you to be pro-active) the things you currently enjoy in your life. Focus on them, savour them and be thankful for them every time you do them.

This will overtime lead you to be able to look at your life and see the positives nefore the negatives. This habit of seeing the positives before the negatives will in turn perpetuate them into other areas of your life until that previously half empty glass of yours is suddenly at least half full and in fact will soon be over-flowing if you continue in the same vein.

It is just as easy to be positive as it is to be negative, develop the habit and you are creating an invaluable life skill that will enhance you life from now on.

Your Greatest Gift!

May 20, 2007

Well, it’s been a while since my last post. A good few weeks have gone by: what with my sister recently giving birth to twins, my computer breaking down and my imminent change of jobs (and country) time has been pretty tight lately.

However through the rush there is  nothing like a new born child to make you appreciate just what a wonderful thing life is… my sister’s twins have reminded me that we have all received an amazing gift…that is our own life including our body, thoughts and indeed the ability for us to create within our own lives the situations and circumstance we desire.

It suprises me a bit when people seem to be happy to let themselves be governed by the expectations of society rather than what they would actually prefer to do if they really sat down and thought about how they would like there lives to turn out.

I guess it all comes down to being intentional with your actions and knowing that the only person who really controls what is going on in your life is yourself. Maybe it is because it is quite easy to go with the flow and follow the norms..taking the safe options in life…or being affected by the advice of others and subsequently not really following your prefferred choices. What is right for one person is not always right for another.

I guess what I’m really saying and reminding myself of as much as anything is that the only person who knows what is best for you… is you and that it is not selfish to break from the norm and actually take action and achieve your goals and desires. By not doing so are you making your life happier or unhappier…which life would you prefer?

Anyway my sister suprised me with the choice of names Eden and Amelia (both girls).
